Terms of Use
Version 2 · effective 11 October 2026 · replaces the BookNest terms of 10 October 2026
1. Agreement
These terms apply to the Shelf of Mind app (formerly BookNest) and the website shelfofmind.com (together “the service”) of Zenithalig BV, Industriepark-West 75, 9100 Sint-Niklaas, Belgium, company number 1016.996.795 (“we”). When you create an account, you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy.
2. Your account
You must be 13 years or older. Give correct information and keep your password secret. You are responsible for what happens with your account. You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings → Account → Delete account).
3. Your content
Your library, names, username, bio and profile photo stay yours. You give us only the rights we need to store your content and, if you make your library public or share posts, to show it to other people. Only add content that you have the right to use. You can export your library at any time.
4. Rules for public content — zero tolerance
We do not tolerate objectionable content or abusive users. In your username, names, bio, profile photo, public library, posts, reactions and borrow requests you must not:
- post sexual, violent, hateful, discriminating or offensive content;
- harass, threaten or bully other people;
- pretend to be another person or organisation;
- share another person's private data without permission;
- post illegal content, spam or advertising;
- try to get around security, misuse the service or collect data of other users automatically.
We can remove content and suspend or delete accounts that break these rules, without warning.
5. Report and block
You can report a public library from its page in the app (menu → Report). This opens an email to customer@zenithalig.com. We review every report within 24 hours and remove content that breaks these rules.
You can also block a user (menu → Block). You then no longer see that user's library in your search, discover and feed lists, and that user cannot send you borrow requests.
6. Lending between users
Borrow requests only help two people agree on a loan. The loan itself is an agreement between those two people. We are not a party to it and are not responsible for books that are lost, damaged or not returned.
7. Book data
Book details and covers come from third parties (Google Books and Open Library). We do not guarantee that this data is correct or complete. Covers and titles stay the property of their rights holders.
8. Free use and Shelf of Mind Pro
The app is free to use for up to 150 books. Shelf of Mind Pro removes this limit. Pro is available as a monthly or yearly subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
- Apple processes all payments through your Apple Account.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. You can manage or cancel them in your Apple Account settings.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its own rules. If you cancel, Pro stays active until the end of the paid period.
- If Pro ends, you keep all your books. You cannot add new books above the free limit until you subscribe again.
9. The service
We work to keep the service available and secure, but we cannot promise that it is always free of errors or interruptions. We can change or end the service. If we end it, we tell you at least 30 days before, so you can export your data.
10. Liability
We are not liable for indirect damage, such as loss of data or lost profit, except in case of intent or gross fault. Nothing in these terms limits rights that you have as a consumer under mandatory law.
11. Apple
These terms are between you and Zenithalig BV, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app, its content, maintenance or support, or for claims about it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and can enforce them. Your use of the app must also follow the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
12. Changes
We can change these terms. We tell you in the app about important changes. If you continue to use the service after that, the new terms apply.
13. Law and disputes
Belgian law applies. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory law of your country. We first try to solve every problem together with you. If that does not work, the courts of the district of East Flanders (Oost-Vlaanderen) have jurisdiction, without prejudice to your rights as a consumer.
